10th Annual One Acts Festival April 5 though 7

The One Acts Festival servers as the start of our season as well as a fund raiser for our upcoming productions. We receive submissions from any and all authors who want to have their productions on stage. This year we will be performing 8 different shows! Tickets are available online or at the door for $10.00. Each performance will also include voting for peoples choice. one vote is $1.00 and this year, that money will be going to our fund to purchase new curtains for the Griswold Auditorium!

Theater in the Park
The Gazebo in Mahan Park, Sunday, June 23, 2024, 7:00 p.m.

Kick off the start of summer with an evening of entertainment in downtown Allegan with the
Allegan Community Players Theater in the Park! The evening features two comic plays: “Getting
Even,” and “Key Lime Pie, written by Jason Milligan, and directed by Allegan Community Players
member Spike Kunetz. In “Getting Even,” an ex-con heads to a car dealership to exact revenge
on the salesman who five years earlier sold him his car—and a handful of trouble. “Getting
Even” stars Don Grant and Spike Kunetz. A scatterbrained woman accidentally bakes her sister’s
wedding ring into a pie—on her wedding day!—in “Key Lime Pie,” staring Marissa Gonzalez, Liz
Wright, Linda Haven, and Rick Moll.

Come enjoy this fun outdoor evening of entertainment at the Gazebo in Mahan Park, along the
beautiful downtown Allegan riverfront. Sunday, June 23, 7:00 p.m. Admission is free! Bring
your own lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on the grass, and some insect repellent. Don’t forget to
enjoy a beverage from a downtown business in Allegan’s Social District.

All The World's A Stage Youth Theater Camp

All the World's a Stage Youth Theater Camp offers an introductory experience for young aspiring performers aged 6-17. Hosted in the historic Griswold theater, this camp helps to build new skills and develop existing talents in a fun nurturing environment. In the week-long session, students will engage in a curriculum that includes acting, directing, writing, technical support, and stage management, led by seasoned members of Allegan Community Players. Beyond skill development, the camp fosters confidence-building through fun games and provides a stress free environment for young performers to go at a pace that is comfortable for them. The week-long camp culminates in a showcase that highlights the talents and growth of every camper, celebrating their journey from auditions to standing ovations. All the World's a Stage Youth Theater Camp inspires young artists to shine on stage, behind the scenes and in life.

There is no fee for the camp, but pre-registration is required. Registration ends Sunday July 28th.

Membership to the Allegan Community Players is required for participation. The camp will run August 5th, 2024 through August 10th,2024. The camp will be in the evenings, Monday through Friday, starting as early as 5pm and ending at 8 pm. The camp showcase performance will be early afternoon on Saturday the 10th.

Many materials used during camp are provided by Drama Notebook, a globally used educational resource for teaching and developing young actors and artists.

“The Bird Day Party” is a play about a bar that is performed in an actual bar! Welcome to Birdie’s, the least popular bar in town. When Birdie’s small group of irregular regulars throw her a birthday party against her wishes, the party seems to be over before it starts—until an unexpected guest turns the evening into a madcap escapade. This year, we will be presenting a holiday sing-a-long! The Allegan Community Players are excited to present their first Holiday Sing-Along, a festive event filled with holiday cheer, classic carols, and community spirit.
